Ok i know i'm new here and i don't really know anyone but i have had dreams over the last few years of what i wanted to see as an "ultimate" fighting game.  it would have just about every popular "combat" anime character (including mechs) along with other cool stuff.  i was thinking of having it based around MUGEN since that's really one of the few decent open-source fighting game engines out there.

here are some features i wanted to implement in a game like this if i ever were to start a project this colossal:

--tons, i mean TONS, of characters (including mechs) spanning at least 25-40 different anime (big ones, obviously DBZ, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, etc.)

--unique soundtrack of at least 15 songs (probably including copyrighted tracks but that could get legally messy)

--redesigned menus (the MUGEN menus are kind of stale out of the box without major code changes)

--high-definition sprites (probably already been done though, so this shouldn't be a problem)

--bound/bouncing capabilities

--"curve" on the strength of individual fighters but still keep a tier system while avoiding broken characters (it would be unfair if, say, Goku used one attack on Shippo and killed the poor guy, just as it would be unfair if Liger Zero mauled Mudkip or something, but it shouldn't be incredibly easy for someone like Sailor Mercury to demolish someone like Vash or Sesshomaru)

--story modes?

--combo "limitations" (repeated hits can do significantly less damage each time, using the same bounce move twice will not bounce them, repeated hits float the opponent increasingly less and less, etc.) <-- this can help balance the characters in general

--group characters by many categories including the show they're from, their gender, tier, etc.

--online multiplayer

--fan-made character galleries for characters from each show

--unlockables, unlockables, and more unlockables (perhaps playable villains/extras/characters from less-known shows?)

anyway, this is just an idea i'm throwing out there as it's something i'd be interested in at least helping out with, although i have no coding experience outside of MATLAB (but who makes games with MATLAB?) and i'm pretty busy with school.  also, these requests are almost impossible to achieve in one project (tons of characters but still having no broken characters).

there may be projects similar to this already out there, and there are probably full fledged MUGEN games already out there too, but i figured this could be a cool project for everyone to take part in, if you're all interested.  it could be called something with Toonami in it if that helps.

again, it's just an idea and i understand if it doesn't garner the interest i hope it does.

well then that post was completely useless. >=(

just because i dont know how to code doesnt mean i cant be of any use to a project like this. i can come up with menu designs, game mode concepts, etc.

So you want nerds to do the long boring tasks while you have a few inputs with easy ideas.

Yeah like sonic said, lolnope.

if i knew how to code, i'd prefer that as a priority than the graphic stuff.  but coding isn't something you learn overnight.  it actually takes a lot of work.

why did you even reply to that anyway?  if you even had any interest in this, what were you going to do?

I actually do have some coding experience. Honestly it doesn't sound like you're horribly committed though, so why should anyone else? Sorry if that sounds douchey, but I just call'em like I see 'em.

well that's understandable and i get it, but school has to come first no matter what.  anyway, this was just an idea for something that i wanted to do eventually, not right away.  i just want to get a good feel as to who would be willing to help when everything's ready to be planned.

I don't know if you've played brawl but this site: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php#Type=%Character%

is pretty dedicated into making brawl have every single game character in it right now and has a bunch of people that make up new stages, menu boards, fighting combos, and characters everyday.

Examples: Top downloads cloud, sephiroth, goku, rosalina, shadow, mewtwo etc etc
