I gotten a taste of what were in for by playing Dead Rising: Case Zero. So far its kind of difficult to judge since its not a full game. It's more in the aspects of being a DLC if anything.

Chuck Greene wife turned into a zombie and bites their six year old daughter. The virus hasn't taken full effect yet, so Chuck is running around looking for this drug called Zombrex. I don't know if it cures someone from turning into a zombie or just slows down the process. It never really does explain. Once you find the drug, you realize she has to take the medicine every twelve hours. You would think it would be simple, but the time frame is pretty much running like the Sims. It is a free world, but while you're completing objectives and killing zombies. I'm always feeling a bit panicked due to the clock. Giving me tendency of trying to actually avoid fights with the zombies. To me that sorta destroys the whole point of it being a zombie game. Also if you miss anything, you can't go back without restarting the storyline first.

On top of this, the controls are probably the most weakest aspect in the game. While climbing you have to time jumps exact or else you'll fail and fall. I find myself losing so much time just trying to get to certain places, mostly just to reach Bob.

If you're achievement hunter like me, well you're in for some hardship during this. For example, one of the achievements is to save all the survivors. But in order to do that, you have to follow through the storyline. You are unable to do it whenever you want because the characters do not show up unless you progress to a certain point. Not only that, some of the characters can only be saved during the night.  Which is exactly at the sametime you have to give his daughter Zombrex or else its game over. You can not save the characters before giving his daughter the medicine, it has to be before. Insane, right?

Other than these issues, the game is actually pretty fun.  Crazy weapons, customization and combos.  Find some nails and a bat and combine them using a workbench to create a spiked weapon, or configure some power drills on a bucket and use liberally for the bloody destruction of any undead's head. Use a warehouse cart to bowl over zombies and drink alcohol to the point of throwing up.

Zombrex only halts the process, there is no cure.

Got Case Zero a few days ago actually, but truth be told I'm leaning towards not getting Dead Rising 2 at this point.  I honestly don't know why, as I love just about everything zombie, but for some reason this series has never done that much for me..... maybe it's the repetive fight controls, I dunno....
