EDIT: Sigh, you didn't get the point of my question. But using common sense detective skills, I've better reflected the main question being asked, to keep this thread afloat.

I like both, but sometimes companies cheep out on making both as good of quality they should be.  Like I own the Criterion copy of Yojimbo an it is like they copied the film frame by frame and the quality is exceptional.

Then I buy things like the new Trigun movie and and it was obviously up converted from DVD and not worth getting the blue ray edition .

Then there is Redline which will make your retinas bleed from how sharp and crisp the images look.

But it all really matters on who made it, what was the original capture device and if the many was there to make it right.

PS: I like Blue Ray but I like to see images as clear as they can possibly get.

To me the Blu-Ray isn't enough of an improvement over DVD to merit the cost of the player; I'm not very picky when it comes to video quality. As far as which is actually superior I'd have to go with 777, I don't think hard media is going to be prolific for much longer.

Still don't own a Blu-Ray, so it's DVD all the way for me still.

.... though I haven't bought a DVD in close to two years or so.
