Persepolis

Description: Filmmakers Vincent Paronnaud and Marjane Satrapi collaborated to co-write and co-direct this adaptation of Satrapi's bestselling autobiographical graphic novel detailing the trials faced by an outspoken Iranian girl who finds her unique attitude and outlook on life repeatedly challenged during the Islamic revolution. The English-language version features the voice talents of Sean Penn, Gena Rowlands, and Iggy Pop, with Catherine Deneuve and Chiara Mastroianni reprising their roles from the original French-language version.
Reason: I know this isn't an ideal representation of a film that would have played on Toonami, but the film is an extremely amazing adult animation. The animation itself is very smooth and resembles the illustrations from the graphic novel of which the film is based on (Persepolis the graphic novel is also outstanding). The story is fascinating, informative, humorous and biographical. The voice acting, as well, is extremely clean and appropriate. I feel the description I posted doesn't do this film the justice it deserves. It is by far one of the best animated films ever made. So, even if this movie does get rejected on the forums, I definitely suggest that all of you go watch it at some time.

I support my suggestion lol

It was! I, however, am awesome.
wow this looks intermaresting
i wouldn't mind seeing this, mainly because of the animation
I love the animation and it looks interesting so i support the idea.
I would love to see Persepolis on here.
I caught this while I was working at the Toronto International Film Festival 5 years ago.
I definitely think this is a film that should be shown on Toonami AfterMath.
I'm not sure if I'm remembering this right, but in the making of featurette, Majane Satrapi mentions she specifically wanted this movie to be made as a classically animated film, because she felt there was this organic, almost "lively" quality to traditional animation, that has essentially become lost, something that Computer Animation and Digital-Ink-and-Paint practices have failed to capture correctly.
Not only is Persepolis a great coming of age story, but it's a stunning argument as to why we should continue to practice and preserve the traditional methods of classical animation as we enter an era of high definition, digital animation.
...Whatever! I support this suggestion.
I am intrigued by this. Even if it doesn't air on TA I think I'll check it out for myself at least.
it certainly looks interesting i would defiantly give this a go for a movie spot at least for one night to see how it went over, looks pretty slick.
I thoroughly enjoyed the comic, so I'd definitely be up for giving this a try here.

I'd be down to check this out. Bout time we get some culture up in here.
