I couldn't find a thread for this yet. You'd think it would be a fairly big deal on this website of all places. Anyways, feel free to talk about your hopes/fears/etc regarding Toonami coming back to television, so we can keep it out of the stream chat and other places.
I'm gonna be at Fanime when it airs but I am setting my DVR and will run up to my hotel room if I can remember/am not doing sometime else (CN for some reason is on eastern time in the hotel)
This past year has been great year for riving nostalgia, Kenshin gets a new OVA and a live action movie is in the works, the DBZ fandom got rebooted with Kai on TV, a new Zelda installment, Legend of Korra brought back the Airbender fandom, and now Toonami is back and it should breath life into a whole list of things I adored in younger days

edit: HO SNAP! new one to add to that list of nostalgic things getting a reboot recently, I JUST learned Berserk got a new movie reanimating the first arc, and it may be in the states this fall, effing sweeeeeet!
Damn shame to... Would be cool to get some more mature, and responsible new blood here on the Forum. Would make the forums much more active and hopping =P

I am so excited that Toonami is officially back,Senor_Cardgage! i'm sure we will see great anime shows anytime now.
Well... who would have thought that a simple April Fools joke would lead to the revival of one of TV's most legendary of blocks. It is cool its coming back, but it stinks that it will only be on Sat. nights it seems, but I'm not gonna judge till I see the reveal of it for myself when the day comes to get a look at the new, reborn Toonamie.
One thing I really want them to do is to also keep doing the game reviews, just like they did one for ME3 for the April Fools joke.
I get the feeling that it's going to be something completely new. As in new shows or shows that weren't in the regular programming. It feels too good to be true.
I hope I'm wrong, but I do have an uneasy feeling about it. We'll just have to wait till then to get an answer.

Well I like that Toonami is "coming back" but it is Adult Swim who is bringing it back, who are very vocal about their hate for anime.
Assuming they push past the hate, what shows will they show?
If its a bunch of original shows, itll be [AS] mini, if they do a bunch of new anime, itll probably suck.
If they decide to play Sergeant Frog, then itll be amazing no matter what.
It is a fairly big deal. In the main chat. Where people only bother to talk.
Anywho, who'd have thought we'd see the day. I hope they have "classic" or "retro" blocks dedicated to the old school stuff. Unless thats all Toonami will be while Adult Swim keeps the newer big name fancy anime.
