Discuss What I should do with VHS Tapes that have Entire Toonami Broadcasts from 2000 to 2007~!
I would say you should convert some tapes to video file and then submit them to toon. We could have a weekly feature that shows Toonami, ads and all, on the website. I think that would be glorious.
Im thinking either 5 or 6, most likely i like the 5 idea
Hi,
I was wondering if you'd consider selling them or trading them for other Toonami or Cartoon Network related broadcasts. Maybe you could just burn copies onto DVD and I could trade them or buy them from you?
I'm looking for anything related to Toonami or CN.
I would love to make something possible.
I have a great collection of my own if you are in fact interested in a trade.
If not, I would spend money for all of them and help you preserve them or share them with the website affiliates.
Let me know regardless!
& Thank you for your time!
I think converting them would be a waste of time/money (unless to Files).
If I we're you I would try to sell them or keep them for future possibilities.
Well yeah I can Convert them into Video Files but the question after that is what to do with them
I could either upload them somewhere or put some clips from them on a stream site but I'm not entirely sure if thats all I can do after converting them
What I would do is talk to Toon about it and see if he's interested in getting that stuff, if not, go with plan B and sell it. Lowkey though... the boys at turner would throw a hissy fit.
Well I see about telling him about it but I don't think Turner would have much of a Fit considering how they Cancelled Toonami so I think putting any of them up would be no different then how this is Taking over for Toonami
In my honest opinion, you should share the tapes with the community of fans in DVD format. Its amazing you dedicated your self to taping all the broadcasts of the show before its ultimate demise. A tip if you convert them to DVD is to share the files through Torrents. Its the best way to share big files rather than deal with Megaupload or Rapidshare.
I wonder what toon thinks about this? But… yeah that is quite something 7 or 8 years of just recording on vhs…VHS wow. Still you probably could make money on ebay for that stuff. You seem like quite the dedicated fan I have one question for you how where you feeling the day toonami ended? Me I was heartbroken

-waffles with a side lol-rolls, and some
nade to drink please.
Okay so pretty much I have Many and Very Big Boxes full of VHS Tapes of most of the Toonami & Saturday AdultSwim Broadcasts spanning from Early 2000 to Late 2007 with a Couple of Broadcast Recordings from 2008 including the last Toonami Broadcast. Now you may be wonder why I have these Tapes......
Well the Answer to that is that after watching a Batman Episode about a Character who records TV show Broadcasts in the Event that Something happens to those Shows or They never become Available Again due to the Block Being Cancelled (Oddly enough I saw this Episode on Toonami lol) just in case someone would ever need to see them or for the Nostalgia Value, So he recorded every single episodes of them. After a moment of thinking about the Logic and Practicality of doing that after a Simpson Episode had a Similar Situation and in a Slight Moment of Savvy-Ness I decided to do the same by Starting to Record Almost every Broadcast of Toonami and AdultSwim physically possible!
Sure there were some very rough patches along the Road like Weather Problems, Power Outages, Setting the VCR on Wrong Times by Accident, Finding out Tapes can Hold more than 5 Hours of Video 2 years later, And the ever hard task of a 7 Year Old to convince their parents to buy a ton of Blank VHSs almost every month, And Actually having a Life! But I still was able to pull through and get Most of the Majority Broadcast Correct, Including Commercials!
.....Well Eventually after 7 Years of doing this I got a DVR so that made things easier so I started using that for some shows I still liked on the Block. I say that cause by that point Toonami kinda hit that point of show recession so It wasn't as good as it used to be but there we're still some promos and shows I kinda liked still on.
By 2008 you should know what happened at that point so I won't go into that Details but I was able to still record the last Broadcast.
Anyway getting more to the point, I pretty much have almost every Single Toonami Broadcast there was in entirety including commercials. I even have the Rare Broadcasts such as Giant Robot Week when they Showed shows like Nadesico, Evangelion, Robotech, And Dai-Guard which also had the Premiere of the MegasXLR Pilot Lowbrow plus other Events like the Month of Miyazki, The Toonami promos for new upcoming shows at the time, And the Transition Promos between the different Toms and when they moved from Weekdays to Saturdays.
Now getting past that point its time for me to get to the Real Reason why I made this forum.
Now since all of that is over I need to decide what I should do with these tapes, I have come up with a list of possible things I can do which each have their own pros and cons but I am open to all your opinions in this manner and any suggestions you may give. I am also willing to answer any questions on the matter as well.
Some Possible Choices I can do with the Tapes:
1. Convert them to Video Files.
2. Convert them to DVDs.
3. Only Convert the Rare Footage or Select Pieces from the Tapes that people are looking for.
4. Sell them on Ebay.
5. Figure out some way to Donate them to Toonami Aftermath.
6. Just Keep them for now and Figure this out later!
So yeah like I said those are somethings I could do with them and wouldn't mind doing either of them, but heres some standard facts you should know about the Tapes and The Situation in General. The Tapes are Labelled and Dated with Brief Summaries for anything that makes each Broadcast on them stand out. Some also have multiple Broadcasts on them and the time codes for when they start and end. Theres about 7 Big Note Books that have a hand written month and Week. I have a VHS To File and DVD Converter and a Couple of Hard Drives but I am Willing to by more Hard Drives if Necessary.
Finally, The Thing Your Probably All Wondering, Is that I have no Idea how Many Tapes there are in Total!
The Reason being is that there are so many tapes and boxes I can't possibly take them out and count them all by myself, but if I were to guess I would say about well into the 4 to 5 Hundreds all stuffed in very big and heavy boxes. (I could have probably Numbered them while making those Checklist but Hey, I was 7 When I started doing this! I didn't Know any better!)
......I think I pretty much covered everything I could possibly say about this, If I left out a detail I'll be sure to fix that and if there any Questions about anything I'll definitely make sure to Answer those as well. Like I said, Opinions about the whole deal is welcomed so feel free to say anything about it.
Anyway that's pretty much it, I would like to thank those who actually read the whole thing and even those who probably just skimmed it.
Still thanks for Listening! XDD
