lol it was only 42 episodes, it was supposed to be 50 but they cut it down to keep the audience interested, mbs gundam was the experiment, establish the audience and in the end it was successful

Actually, 0079 was a colossal failure, it was the real hardcore fans, what few of them there were, that got the interest in the movie compilations, and Zeta Gundam got the series truly popular.
i found G gundam, gundam wing, and mobile suit the best in the series. however, 8 MS team was good, so was char's revenge.
there were also many, MANY old gundam series that never aired on toonami. any way you guys could work some of those in eventually? I know there are at least 30 or so separate series just within just within the universal century timeline alone. not to mention all the other timelines. all in all, there are far too many good ones to recommend only a select few. if anything, i would have to recommend the universal century timeline in its entirety
If you liked the original series, I recommend Zeta Gundam to continue the UC storyline.
If you liked Gundam Wing, I recommend Gundam 00; it takes the elite group of pilots route for the story's main characters.
I as recommend War in the Pocket, Stardust Memory, Victory Gundam, Gundam F91, and Turn A Gundam. Been watching Gundam for near 20 years, and these are just some of the good ones. Just don't watch any of the SEED series!
ok, to go ahead and get this out of the way, here is the list in chronological order for universal century series:
-
- Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO (January, UC0079)
- Mobile Suit Gundam (September, UC0079)
- Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team (October, UC0079)
- Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket (December, UC0079)
- Gundam the Ride: A Baoa Qu (December, UC0079)
- Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory (UC0083)
- Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (UC0087)
- Gundam Neo Experience 0087: Green Divers (UC0087)
- Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ (UC0088)
- Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack (UC0093)
- Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (UC0096)
- Mobile Suit Gundam F91 (UC0122)
- Mobile Suit Victory Gundam (UC0153)
- G-Saviour (UC223)
Wow there are a lotta gundam series aren't there?
My personal favorite is G Gundam, but I enjoy Gundam Wing also.
I really appreciated the Gunam Wing series for what it taught me. I must have been like 10 when it first started on Toonami, but I kept watching it til I was about 14. I really absorbed the material. Everything from the diction to the politics sank in, and when I would cover it in school, I could then get a better understanding of the material because I had already seen perfect examples. Simple science terms casually talked about in the show like Lagrangian points got me to read up on science a bit more. In my opinion, Gundam Wing was the best for its timeless writing, modest effects, classic storyline, and simplistic realism.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam was really good. Long as all hell, but good.
