I watched shows on Toonami like DBZ, Gundam Wing, and Yuyuhakusho, but I never considered theme anime cause I didn't really KNOW what anime was. I think what really got me into anime would have been .hack//Legend because I remember feigning sleep and waking up at 1am to see it,sure it's nothing compared to the manga but I was hooked on the show.
Oh and on another note, probably Fooly Cooly and Trigun because I saw them at a hotel one time and I was just like ohmagawd what is dis!
It would have to be Sailor Moon for me. I'm a girl so its ok
but then I started watching Cowboy Bebop and Case Closed. Now that's a show that they should show on here!! I know that only came on Adult Swim though...but still awesome show. Overall, I'd say Death Note is the anime that blew me away..and is one of my favorites. It definitely made me want to watch more animes like it ![]()
my first anime was Soul Eater after being told by a freind to watch it

My first anime was either ninja scroll or what I was told was the an anime for strider
First one I ever saw growing up would have to be DBZ, but Trigun & Fist of the North Star were great....I remember seeing Fist of the North Star on Encore (I think they only had the Dub for like 36 Eps or something) but after that I loved em.
I still haven't seen Trigun, people flip when i tell them that. haha. it's on my list though, i'll check it out sooner or later.
Well now I feel old. My first has to be Transformers G1, followed closely by Voltron and other anime of the era. Back then, they were just cartoons. First "anime" I watched without thinking I was just watching some cartoon was probably the movie Armitage III, late at night on SciFi back in HS. I was facinated. When I got to college I found DBZ and other anime like that.
despite watching anime before it, it was .hack that got me interested fully in anime. the games, dvds that came with the games, manga, and 2 tv series all told a large connecting story of shitstorm epic proportions.
good times man.

Gundam Wing and DBZ, but basically most shows on toonami when I started watching it
